What is LPG / Autogas?
LPG stands for "Liquefied Petroleum Gas" — a mixture of propane and butane stored under pressure in a tank inside the vehicle. Unlike petrol or diesel, autogas is available at thousands of stations across Germany and Europe.
A converted car runs bivalently — on both petrol and gas. You can switch fuel manually at a cockpit switch, or the control unit can do it automatically.
Your benefits
๐ฐ Cut fuel costs in half
Autogas costs roughly half the price of petrol at the pump. Even after accounting for the ~15โ20% higher consumption compared to petrol, you save significantly.
๐ฑ More environmentally friendly
Autogas burns cleaner than petrol: about 15% less COโ, far less particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. Great for the environment and for urban low-emission zones.
๐ Same range
The petrol tank stays, the gas tank is added (often in the spare wheel well). Total range nearly doubles — perfect for commuters and frequent drivers.
๐ง Proven technology
Autogas systems have been refined over decades. We work with high-quality branded equipment and have many years of experience in installation and maintenance.
Our LPG services
- Conversion / installation — we install an autogas system in your vehicle. After a short familiarization period you'll be running on gas.
- Servicing and maintenance — filter changes and system inspection according to manufacturer guidelines (usually every 30,000 km or once a year).
- Gas system inspection (GAP) — mandatory every 24 months. We perform the inspection directly at our workshop.
- Repairs — for problems with seals, injectors, control unit or tank.
- Consultation — we'll check whether a conversion makes sense for your vehicle and driving habits.
Is conversion worthwhile for me?
It depends mainly on two factors:
- Annual mileage: from about 15,000 km per year the conversion typically pays for itself within 2โ3 years. Faster for frequent drivers.
- Your vehicle: not every car is equally suitable. Direct-injection engines and some modern motors need special components, or can't be converted at all.
Get free advice — we'll check your vehicle and tell you honestly whether conversion makes sense.
